I went to help the boy scouts put up flags around town today. Put up just a little over 400 hundred flags in peoples yards. For 20 dollars you get a flag put in your yard 5 times a year.
Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Vets. Day.
We had a wonderful day yesterday, temp got to about 80 degrees. There was a nice breeze,
no rain, no tornados...the rivers in central Iowa have begain to crest. The last storm went south. How ever there still flooding and have to wait to see if all the levies hold.
As for the eastern side of the state, Cedar Rapids only time will tell.
So go fly a flag! I did and I feel good.
Here in DC it was wicked hot this past week...but your rains will bring us rain later today and then it's supposed to actually feel like Spring next week.
Have a good weekend...a SAFE weekend.

Let's see I cooked lunch, did the dishes, changed and fixed a flat tire, spent two hours at a wal-mart, mowed the yard....just another day for the busman
They put up, over 200 flags in the cemetary, each flag is 8' tall. and has the name of every vet that has served and have passed away. Then there the flag raising ceremony, we put up the American flag, the Iowa flag, and the Pow/Mia flag....
we have had some wonderful weather these last 4 or 5 days. Hi's in the 70's
low humidity, cools off to the 50's at night. Not real good for the corn, but I like it.
Maybe these cooler temps will head your way as well
