lets do it on the bus

 A Call to Duty

Bob one of the oldest drivers I have ever met, is retireing this year. I am not sure how old he is. He asked me last Friday if I would consider doing something for him and I told him it depends on what it is.
His grandson goes to school in the building I work in, and I have driven the bus he rides many times. So we know each other. The boys name is Austin.
He is a very quite kid. I also know that he lives with his mom, hasn't seen his dad in years. Austin is in his last year as a cub scout and next year he will cross over to boy scout. Scouting is the only thing Austin does outside of school.
Austin has had the same cub scout leader since he started scouts several years ago. However his current leader is unable to finish the last year.
Austins Den started with 20 boys they are now done to just 7. Some of the boys are talking about quiting. Austin wants to continue but needs a leader.
Bob has asked me to be the leader for next year.
Most of you know I spent time in the army and army reserves for a total of 22 years. I retired from the army just a little over two years ago. Retired so know I can join the boy scouts! I will do my training this fall.
I am helping the scouts out this weekend, Sat morning we start at 5:45 am we are helping the American Legion to put flags at the graves. Sat afternoon putting out flags from the Lions club, they are great big flags and they decorate the cemetary, Each flag has a name of someone who served in the military. Then Monday morning we will go around and put flags in peoples yards. They have donated money to pay for this flag, and there are lots of them. Then at 6:00 am Monday morning we will do a flag raising ceramony in the cemetary with scouts, legion and the lions club.
I can't think of a better way to pay honors and respect for those who have served in the military on the Memoral Day weekend.

 Drive by......

Warning....this may or maynot be a nice post......

Yesterday there was a wreck out on the highway. A car and semi hit head on, the driver of the car was killed and it took over two hours to remove the body from the car. So they closed down part of the highway and made a detour.
Where they had the detour set up you could see the wreck, so I changed my route so I wouldn't have to go that way. I went out of town a different way and was able to cut back to the route before I had to make my first stop. I didn't think the kids on the bus needed to see the wreck. One of the older kids asked how come we were going this way, told him the highway was closed do to a wreck. No more questions were asked.

Later in the route I have to cross the highway, it was further south than the wreck and wasn't visable from where we were at. So know I am on the gravel road going the way I always do on that route, there is more traffic because this is where the detour was takeing everyone. I turned on my yellow warning lights as I got close to my stop, from where I was at I know the bus was in good veiw of all traffic, cars had plenty of time to see my yellow lights so when they turned to red they had plenty of time to stop.
Well the car coming towards the bus, slowed down and drove right past my flashing red lights and my stop sign. I am thankful that the boy getting off the bus did not have to cross in front of the bus.
All have written out my report and turned it in. I got the plate number of the car and discription of the car and driver. In Iowa I only need the plate number.
There were two other cars that were behind him they both stopped with plenty of room in front of the bus and I had two cars stopped behind me. There were plenty of witnesses.

When a bus turns on its yellow flashers we are slowing down to pick up or drop off when they go to red we are makeing our stop. Kids are getting on and off the bus, I want to keep them safe.

This what I think I would like todo. It sure would have been nice to have a gun. As the car drives by start puttting some holes into the car. Later a police officer would ask can you describe the car to me...yeh its the one with bullet wholes in it, and should match the bullets fired from this gun. Yes drive by....my bus with its red lights on I would like to shot at you.
That way it can be clamed it was a drive by shooting.

Please note I didn't say I would shoot the driver or anyone in the car......
I bet they would stop the next time they see red flashing lights on a school bus.

 Happy Mothers Day

Here's some lyrics to a song I hope might like.

I remember way back when I was just a boy
goin' places with my mom and dad
it used to scare me to death how momma used to act
after six or seven beers she had
we were settin' at a table when momma got disabled
all the liquor running to her head
and soon I got to chokin' daddy wasn't jokin' when he grabbed me by the arm and said

don't look now momma's got her boobs out
showing everybody in town
or faces turning red, wishing we were dead
there were people standing all around
when momma gets to drinking there ain't much thinking
there's nothing anybody could do
you just hope and pray there's never a day when momma's out drinking with you.

We'll we got her in the truck and we started drivin home
when momma said she had to go
daddy pulled it over,
we were standing on the shoulder while momma's puttin on a show
well he started up the truck
and momma stood up with her pants around her knees,
when we heard momma hollar
if you give me a dollar I will let you take a peek at these

don't look now momma's got her boobs out
showing everybody in town
our faces turnin red, wishin' we were dead
there were people standing all around
when momma gets to drinking there ain't much thinking
there's nothing anybody can do
you just hope and pray there is never comes a day when momma's out drinking with you.

Song Momma's got her boobs out by: Rodney Carrington

I couldn't think of a better way to ask other than posting this for mother's day.
So Momma's get those boobs out.

Here is a thought, when I was a teen between the ages of 16-18
I had a friend who went by JC, and I will admit it I did take a peek or two at his moms boobs. Alright all you moms out there if you had a teenage son and he brought his friend over and you think he's trying to peek at your boobs, what are your thoughts....

 bus in shop

Sorry I have been gone for awhile, bus blew a tire and ended up needing some work done. I tried to patch the whole with duck tape.
But it quacked off, that made me turn the bus into the ditch and made the front bumper fall off. Tried to put it back on with some chicken wire. Did someone say chicken and they ate the wire.
Opened a big bag of rubberbands made a ball of bands for the tire and straped enough on to make a rubber bumber.
On my way back to the shop my brakes failed, ok I might have been going a little too fast and failed to stop, ran into the back end of the truck.
With all the rubber from the bands it shot the bus into the air as if it where shot from a sling shot, I had a perfect 10 for a landing. On a scale of 1 to 10 I might be off by a few hundered points. I got back on the road just to notice that none of my head lights worked, so I stopped at wal-mart and bought some flashlight to strap on to bus to make it look like I have headlights.
As I pulled into the shop my mirrors fell off, when I picked one up and looked at myself in the mirror, it broke. Couldn't handle something that good looking. After duck tapeing the mirror back togeather got it straped on to the bus I pulled the bus forward into the bus barn just to realize that the door was shut, so once again I felt like the bus was being shot thew the air like flying out of a sling shot. The duck on the mirrors flew away, the flashlights needs batteries to work, the tire unwrapped and the bumper shot the rubberbands back at me.
I gave up and walked away from the bus........that really happened
doesn't it sound better than if I said I blew a knee and have been off me feet for over a week, who would believe something like that.

 Busman can be a Jerk...

I went to a strip mall the other day, yes I said mall not bar or club.
I went to Factory Card Outlet to buy my Mother a birthday card. No don't go thinking I'm kind just because I bought my Mother a birthday card, we are not close at all. We live about 12 miles apart and I make sure I see her twice a year, I also call her about that often as well. As for the birthday card its about a month late, no I didn't forget her birthday, I always send her the card late.
It's a long story between us and I'm not going there now. It's bad enough that I went shopping (I hate shopping) and just to buy her a card.
So I'm at this strip mall and in a grumpy mood anyway, The stores had stuff set on there sidewalks for there sidewalk sale, it's not bad enought that they have all this junk insde the store but they put it on the sidewalk so you might want to buy more.
It was at that time I noticed that a car had pulled up a few spots from where I was, He (the drive) gets out of the car and hurrys to the sidewalk. I watch her get out of the car, open the trunk and get out the baby stroller. She goes to one side of the car opens the door and puts the baby in the stroller. Then she puts the diaper bag over the stroller handle bars, then she goes back to the other side of the car and pulls out another kid, looks like he is about the age where he might walk but not real well. She then holds him in one arm and steers the stroller with the other hand. Needles to say it looked very difficult to do, seemed to do pretty well. I would guess she has done this before.
I see her makeing her way up to Factory Card Outlet, these stores at the strip mall do not have automatic doors, so as she got closer I noticed he looked right at her and walk futher away.
So I made my way past her and opened the door for her, I was raised to do that by my Mother....did I mention her already? back to story. Oh by the way this is a true story.
As I stood there holding the door open for her, she smiled at me and said thank you. The smile she gave me said it all, her whole face seem to light up.
Thats when I noticed him makeing his way to the store, I pushed the door shut and stood in front of it, there I am looking at this guy. This is were it gets a little tricky because I can't remember all what I said or how I said it, I said something like, She's good enough for you to have sex with but you don't want to be seen with her and your kids.....Yes someday I am going to say the wrong thing to the wrong person and get my butt kicked.
However I did notice that when they left the store and went to the next one he was pushing the stroller and she was carring the other child,,,,,,
He is probably thinking...that guy was such a jerk...
By the way I didn't even go into Factory Card Outlet and buy the card,
Oh well maybe I will by her a birthday card and give it to her on Mothers day.
