lets do it on the bus

 Flag Day

I went to help the boy scouts put up flags around town today. Put up just a little over 400 hundred flags in peoples yards. For 20 dollars you get a flag put in your yard 5 times a year.
Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Vets. Day.

We had a wonderful day yesterday, temp got to about 80 degrees. There was a nice breeze,
no rain, no tornados...the rivers in central Iowa have begain to crest. The last storm went south. How ever there still flooding and have to wait to see if all the levies hold.
As for the eastern side of the state, Cedar Rapids only time will tell.

So go fly a flag! I did and I feel good.

 VBS, SOCCER, SANDBAGS, and SEX.

VBS=vacation bible school
One of the churhes is having there vbs this week. So far they have had about 150 kids per day. The neat thing they are doing is collecting items and money for the town of Parkerburg in North Central Iowa that was destroyed a few weeks ago by an F-5 Tornado. F-5 are the biggest ones you can. As the kids gather to do this the adults gather at the river..

SANDBAGS, we are filling sandbags, lots of them. For part of the town I am in is flooding.
Some people of heard of Des Moines flooding on the national news. I am on the river that feeds into the Des Moines River. It still is riseing and the weather for this week is more rain.
Just what we don't need.
I find it amazing as we pack sand bags to fight the river, we still take time to think of those in Parkersburg that lost everything. Like the saying says, if you think you have it bad look around you can always find someone who has it worse than you do.

There was no reason to Sandbag to protect the Soccer Fields. The only thing by the Soccer Fields is or was a corn field. So the Soccer fields are underwater and have been for the last two weeks. I have been coaching soccer this year and it was fun. For a first time coach and this is a "for fun" league, I don't think I did to bad. Last fall the same team lost all eight of there games. This spring we won 2 games, both of them by one point.
Had one tie game at three. Lost 2 games by 1 point. Lost two other games by 3 points a peice. However the last game with us not being able to practice on the fields and not being able to get the whole team to practice, and just enough players to play the game we got killed. Lost by 10. Told the girls the last game had nothing to do with what we did this season and not to look badly upon this one game.
Here is a picture of the soccer ball that all the girls signed and put there numbers by there name:

I thought I was done with this post but I see in the title theres the fourth word....SEX
I just put that word in there to get everyones attention. Has nothing to do with the other three words...... After I get off work tonight, I am going back to bag some more sand...

 If you're reading this

Tomb of the unkown soldier

If you're reading this
My momma is sitting there
Looks like I only got a one way ticket over here
I sure wish I could give you one more kiss
War was just a game we played when we were kids
Well I'm laying down my gun
I'm hanging up my boots
I'm up here with God
And we're both watching over you

So lay me down
In that open field out on the edge of town
And know my soul
Is where my momma always prayed where it would go.
If you're reading this I'm already home

If you're reading this
Half way around the world
I won't be there to see the birth of our baby girl
I hope she looks like you
I hope she fights like me
Stands up for the innocent and the weak
I'm laying down my gun
Hanging up my boots
Tell dad I don't regret that I'd followed in his shoes

So lay me down
In that open field out on the edge of town
And know my soul is where my moma always prayed where it would go
If your're reading this, I'm already home

If you're reading this, there is going to come a day
You move on and find someone else and that's okay
Just remember this
I'm in a better place
Soldiers live in peace and angels sing amazing grace

So lay me down
In that open field out on the edge of town
And know my soul is where my momma prayed where that it would go
If you're reading this
If you're reading this
I'm already home

 Not Sure?

Yesterday I drove to a soccer game. Winner of game goes on to state. We left at 2:00pm
and got home this morning at 12:30am. I drove about 2 and half hours there and back. For a total of 266 miles. That is a long way to go in a school bus.
The soccer game was good. I am new to the game of soccer so I don't know that much about it. However we played the first 40 minute period and the score was 0-0. Had a ten minute half and then played another 40 minute period. At the end of that period the score was still 0-0. There was a five minute break followed by a 10 minute period. At the end of that period the score was 0-0. Then there was a two minute break followed by another 10 minute period. That the end of that period it was 0-0. Then we went into a shoot out. That's when we lost by one goal. It was a very long day. Time I was done I put in 18 hour day at work.
At 5:00 am this morning, I get woke up by a thunderstorm. So I get up and go to work so today I feel like this bus

Thanks to Rubble for the bus...
