Down in the right hand corner of the blog under recent blogs, blogs I like and all that stuff is
a visitor counter. Today while getting caught up on my emails and blogs I saw that I was at 9,999. One more and I would get my 10,000 visitors. While I was over at A strange day in a small town my count went to 10,000. It just makes me wonder who was the 10,000 visitor?
I also got comments about that time, so don't even know if the 10,000 visitor left a comment or not. I just want to say thanks to all the 10,000 riders that have rode the bus. So far we haven't wrecked to many times. Strange I will never know who the 10,000 visitor was.
Hope to have many more roads to travel and many more riders. And of course many more bloggers to use as my bus stops!

An older, tired-looking dog wondered into my yard, I could tell from his collar and well fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of.

He camly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head; he then followed me into my
house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep. An hour later, he went to the door and I let him out.

The next day he was back, greeted mein my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour. This continued off and on for several weeks.

Curious I pinned a note to his collar: 'I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon you dog comes to my house for a nap.'

The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar:

'He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 or under the age of 3-
he's trying to catch up on his sleeep.

Can I come with him tomorrow?

Sat was great at Adventureland Park. Did some rides and had some fun.
Rode the Silly Silo twice in a row. I think my 57 straight persona best is safe for sometime.
However while on it the second time in a row, I closed my eyes, while spinning around and hearing people scream put a smile on my face. I thought how peaceful this is, I had started dozing off until the ride was coming to a stop. As the ride comes to a stop you tend to slide down the wall, causing underwear to give a wedgy. In away its funny, ride stops and everyone trys to adjust there underwear.

Sunday was the flag burning ceremony for the flags. Between the American Legion and the Boy Scouts we burned 225 flags. We were there for sometime. After the fire was put out.
I went home just to get a phone call from a guy I help with lawn care. So went to mow for a couple of hours. Busy weekend.

Shawn Johnson is back from China. They kept talking about having 2,000 people show up for her return. Well her homecoming had 8,000 people. I just wish Lolo Jones would have made it back at the same time, but she is off to compete at other places.

I am driving a school bus everyday, until futher notice. Next week is homecoming.
Tuesday is PJ day. Yep I am going to wear my pj's to work.
I would like to see someone (I perfer women) who sleeps in the nude to wear there pjs to work.

We started school on Monday. If time I can remember doing a full week. Normally we do Thursday and Friday. Have the weekend off then go next week for the full week.
This has been one long week. Doesn't help we are short bus drivers and subs. I worked over 50 hours this week, and will have to put in more next week.
I should work this weekend, however I worked last weekend. My work orders and request are way smaller than a week ago. It would be nice just to get them done.
However Sat I am going to Adventureland, its an amusement park. You know, roller coasters,
bumper cars, I don't ride like I use to, but I still ride.
Then Sat night and Sunday morning I will be delivering my Sunday paper route. After Sunday I am without a contract, could be my last Sunday. The paper said it no longer contracts for the county I am in, but they we were working to find someone for us carriers to contract under.
My last day with the contract for the paper is Sunday, Know one has even talked to me about a new contract. However they asked me for my map of the route, don't worry they haven't gotten it yet. I look at it as no contract, no map. The extra money was nice but then again winter is coming and I won't mind not doing it anymore. Will wait and see what next week brings.
Sunday plan on cooking breakfeast with the American Leagion and then Sunday afternoon
will helping in a flag burning ceremony for the boy scouts. The breakfeast and flag burning raps up the end of one of the scouts eagle projects. He sold flags and other stuff to raise money for the Little Sioux Boy Scout Camp that got hit by the tornado this springs.
Next summer the Boy Scou troup I work with will be going to that camp. I would like to be there on June 11. That will be the one year from the time the tornado hit.
Back to Adventureland, my all time ride is the Silly Silo. It's round, you get in stand against the wall with every one in a circle backs to the wall. Then it starts to spin in circles. When you get going fast enough the floor drops out and the g force holds you against the wall.
Then the ride slow down the floor moves up and spin until you come to a stop.
However if you puke on the ride while it is in full spin, it just comes back and hits you in the face and no one else gets it. If the ride is slowing down then you have problems.
Then of course you have the people who view it from the top, one person puked while looking over the side, while the ride was in full spin. Needless to say everyone on the ride got hit and there was a chain reaction. The ride was shut down for a long time for clean up. One time I went there, got on and off that ride none stop. Rode it 57 times straight.
Ride on a full stomic, empty stomic and right after I ate and have never pucked yet.
It is one of the parks orginal rides and I ride it every year since the park has been open.
I will try to find out how old the park is and ride. Maybe this will be my year to puke.!

What a week. The kids came back to school on Monday. I have had to fill in on driving bus all week. No problems there same route I drove all most everyday last year.

Just found out I won't be coaching soccer this fall. That is fine with me, I will be completeing my boy scout leadership training this fall. Also I am driving the 7th grade football team to all of there away game. Most are close by, will get done early, get to watch the game for free and get paid while I do it.

Been staying up every night watching the Olympics. Shawn Johnson from Iowa won her gold medal. She comes away with 1 gold and 4 silver. She gets home Monday night, should be a nice crowd at the Des Moines Airport.

The other one I have been watching was Lo Lo Jones, track runner. She was on her way to gold when she hit one of the hurdles and nocked her off her timming. However in 2009 she will be coming to Drake, the blue oval track, holds some of the biggest track events in the nation. Can't wait! I will be there. She could still make the 2010 Olympic team. I hope she does.

So staying up late and getting up early, and working all day.... puts alot of miles on the bus. Bus won't be to much later, I'm just right around the corner.
